Since the start of 2020 municipal vehicle hire company CTS Hire has continually invested in brand-new ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) compliant refuse vehicles that also meet with the new Direct Vision Standard (DVS) due to be introduced in October this year.

Fifteen new vehicles have been delivered so far with twelve more due to arrive before September 2020. The new vehicles comprise a combination of 7.5t, 12t and 15t NTM refuse vehicles, as well as 18t and 26t Dennis refuse vehicles.

Bob Sweetland, Managing Director, CTS Hire: “We want to make sure that our fleet meets all the latest health and safety regulations, so that our customers don’t need to worry about compliance. We have an ambitious investment programme to achieve this with more vehicles arriving every week between now and September.”

As part of its commitment to providing the highest standards of service, all CTS Hire vehicles are also equipped with tracking, 360-degree camera systems and side-guards.

From 26 October 2020 the Direct Vision Standard requires all goods vehicles over 12 tonnes to obtain a permit to drive in Greater London, including vehicles from outside the UK. Enforced by Transport for London (TfL) the legislation is based on a ‘star rating issued by vehicle manufacturers indicating how much a driver can see from the cab in relation to other road users.

Established in 1994 CTS Hire offers a wide range of high-quality vehicles, fitted with the latest technological enhancements, including 7.5T-26T RCVs, caged tippers, food waste vehicles, top loaders, sweepers, hook loaders and skip loaders. All CTS vehicles are available for short or long-term hire including contract hire options. The fleet is supported by a 24/7 national mobile engineer and workshop network.
